Fitness Club Operations Manager

**Job Summary**
The Fitness Club Operations Manager will oversee the day-to-day operations of our gym to ensure an exceptional member experience and a financially successful club. This role involves leading a team of employees in a positive and motivating manner, providing continuous assistance with employee training and development.
- Staff Management:
- Schedule staff to ensure all shifts are covered.
- Recruitment and Training:
- Recruit, hire, train, and develop high-performing staff members, including Assistant Managers, Member Service Representatives, Trainers, and Custodians.
- Customer Service:
- Create and maintain a welcoming atmosphere for all members, prospective members, and guests, ensuring staff adheres to superior customer service guidelines.
- Administration:
- Process weekly or bi-weekly employee payroll.
- HR Responsibilities:
- Resolve employee issues or concerns.
- Manage disciplinary/termination activities.
- Front Desk Activities:
- Answer phones in a friendly manner and assist callers with various questions.
- Check members into the system.
- New member sign-up.
- Tours for prospective members.
- Facilitate all member requests, issues, and questions.
- Maintenance and Safety:
- Ensure prompt opening/closing of the gym.
- Oversee cleanliness and maintenance of the facility, including daily cleaning responsibilities.
- Ensure safety of employees, members, and club property.
- Marketing Efforts:
- Manage marketing efforts by ensuring staff is aware and trained on all marketing promotions.
- Financial Responsibilities:
- Authorize expenditures and refunds.
- Daily bank deposits.
We estimate the salary for this position to be around $45,000-$60,000 per year, depending on location and experience.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Superior customer service skills, preferably in the fitness industry.
- Experience working as an Assistant Manager at Planet Fitness.
- Exceptional leadership, diplomacy, and listening skills.
- Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Suite).
- Hardworking, enthusiastic, and energetic individual.
- Strong problem resolution skills.
- CPR certification required.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
