Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Transactional Entertainment Mid-Level Associate Attorney with previous work experience in the music industry to join our practice. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated passion for the music and entertainment industries, strong interpersonal and communication skills, and a background in supervising or reviewing work completed by junior-level attorneys.

Responsibilities
  • Negotiate and draft contracts for music and entertainment clients
  • Specialize in representing record labels
  • Handle copyright and intellectual property issues
  • Close interaction with and provide guidance to clients
  • Candidates should be competent in handling various agreements from start to finish, including recording agreements, publishing agreements, record clearance agreements, joint venture agreements, live tour and performance agreements, management agreements, and brand/sponsorship/endorsement agreements
Required Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate must have:

  • A minimum of three years of music transactional experience (in-house or private practice)
  • Demonstrated interest in and enthusiasm for music industry issues and trends
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail, excellent legal research and analytical skills
  • Membership in good standing (or pending membership) with the California Bar
  • Exceptional organization skills
  • Ability to work independently and remotely
  • Sensitivity to deadlines and ability to multi-task
  • Ability to supervise and train junior associate(s), including identifying errors and/or oversights on draft review, providing constructive feedback, and explaining complex legal concepts
