Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and customer-focused Training and Employment Fund Coordinator to join our team at the 1199SEIU National Benefit Fund. This role will play a vital part in ensuring the seamless execution of our training and employment programs, providing exceptional support to our members and applicants.

Our mission is to empower our members to achieve their full potential through education, training, and advocacy.

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to our recruitment team, assisting applicants with Job Security Fund and Employment Center applications.
  • Offer exceptional customer service, handling high call volumes, addressing inquiries, and routing calls to the appropriate staff or taking messages.
  • Process incoming resumes, updating our candidate database to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
  • Assist applicants in completing JSF/EC applications, screen for eligibility requirements, collect necessary documentation, verify information, and administer tests.
  • Communicate accurate training eligibility information to candidates.
  • Schedule intake appointments.
  • Provide assistance at the reception area, answer calls, and offer switchboard services.
  • Verify the JSF eligibility process.
  • Perform additional duties and projects as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • A High School Diploma or GED is required, while some college or degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of one year of experience in an administrative and customer service capacity, preferably in an educational, healthcare, union, or human resources setting.
  • Bilingual Spanish speaking skills are desirable.
  • Precise data entry skills, with an error rate of 6% or less and a speed of 6,000 kph, along with basic Microsoft Word skills and Excel proficiency.
  • Excellent administrative, clerical, and filing skills, with attention to detail and organizational prowess.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, maintaining a pleasant attitude to provide top-notch service to members and visitors.
  • Able to work under pressure, multitask, establish priorities, and occasionally work evenings and travel within the NYC area as needed.

Salary

The estimated salary range for this position is between $40,000 - $55,000 annually, based on location and experience.
