Job Summary
The Chief Medical Officer (CMO) at Heartland Community Health Clinic provides strategic leadership and administrative oversight of clinical services, ensuring alignment with the organization's mission, strategic goals, and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Develops and implements medical policies and procedures to ensure high-quality patient care and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Provides leadership and guidance to clinical staff, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous quality improvement.
- Collaborates with the Vice President of Quality and Compliance to ensure effective quality improvement and infection control programs.
- Oversees the medical records program, ensuring compliance with legal and accreditation guidelines.
- Establishes and monitors clinician productivity and performance, setting realistic goals and evaluating quarterly progress.
- Assesses and recommends the use of new technology in patient treatment, working closely with the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) on budgetary matters.
- Leads the recruiting and hiring process for clinicians, ensuring a diverse and skilled workforce.
- Participates in local, regional, and state networks and organizations to enhance clinical services and stay current with healthcare trends.
- Maintains relationships with local medical societies and healthcare organizations, promoting collaboration and knowledge sharing.
- Ensures clinic compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as HHS policies and procedures.
- Works closely with clinical teams to develop and implement policies and procedures that maximize patient-centered communication and services.
- Maintains confidentiality of patient information and reports building/equipment problems through the appropriate channels.
- Utilizes HHS's Electronic Medical Records system to provide high-quality professional medical services to patients.
Requirements
- Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathy Degree from a school accredited by ACMGE.
- Three to five years supervisory experience in management of a group practice or Federally Qualified Health Center and ten years practice experience.
- Licensed to practice in the State of Illinois.
- Skills in communicating effectively with patients and their families.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective professional relationships with fellow healthcare clinicians.
- Excellent interpersonal and written communications skills required.
- Ability to maintain appropriate clinical privileges required.
- FTCA coverage or private professional malpractice insurance obtainable.
- Ability to travel to all locations and to meetings outside the service area; flexible hours required.
Salary
$240,000-340,000 per year
