We are seeking a skilled Certified Medical Assistant to provide high-quality patient care and support to our healthcare team.
About the RoleThis is a full-time position that requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills. As a Certified Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our medical facility and delivering exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Patient Care
- Assist healthcare providers in performing various medical procedures and examinations.
- Obtain and record patient vital signs, height, weight, and medical history accurately.
- Prepare patients for examinations and procedures, ensuring their comfort and well-being.
- Administer medications and treatments as directed by healthcare providers.
- Educate patients about their medical conditions, treatments, and preventive measures.
- Administrative Duties
- Greet patients, schedule appointments, and manage patient flow within the medical facility.
- Maintain electronic health records (EHR) accurately and confidentially.
- Handle patient inquiries, phone calls, and correspondence professionally and efficiently.
- Coordinate referrals to specialists and other healthcare facilities as needed.
- Manage medical supplies and equipment inventory, ensuring availability and proper functioning.
- Clinical Support
- Assist with minor surgical procedures and wound care.
- Perform routine laboratory tests and collect specimens for analysis.
- Prepare and sterilize medical instruments and equipment.
- Perform electrocardiograms (EKGs) and other diagnostic tests as required.
- Follow infection control protocols and maintain a clean and safe environment.
- Team Collaboration
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive patient care.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues to ensure continuity of care and adherence to treatment plans.
- Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) credential from an accredited institution.
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a medical assisting program preferred.
- Current CPR certification.
- Proficiency in medical terminology, basic pharmacology, and clinical procedures.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism and empathy.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and patient needs.
- Compliance with HIPAA regulations and ethical standards of healthcare practice.
We offer a competitive salary range of $45,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on experience, plus a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, paid time off, and opportunities for professional development and advancement within the organization.
