Job Description and Duties

As a Tax Program Technician II at the Franchise Tax Board, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and compliance of tax laws and procedures. Under the guidance of a Tax Program Supervisor, you will provide technical guidance and quality review to staff to ensure a high level of accuracy and consistency with departmental policy.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review revised federal data submitted by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and/or the taxpayer to make adjustments necessary to correct accounts.
  • Assist in the development and training for staff to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
  • Identify processing problems and recommend solutions to procedural and/or program problems.
Working Conditions:

This position is eligible for remote-working within California based on departmental guidelines and operational need. FTB has a minimum in-office requirement of two days per week for all positions including those that are eligible for telework.

Special Requirements:
  • The position requires a Background Investigation to be cleared prior to being hired.
