Shipfitter Technician

This is a hands-on position that requires experience with metal fabrication and welding. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of blueprints and be able to work independently in a fast-paced shipyard environment.

• Laying out work from blueprints and creating metal structural parts
• Cutting, burning, grinding, and fitting metal components
• Tacking and welding foundation and structural members
• Operating high-reaching equipment, such as condors and scissors lifts

• Minimum 2 years of on-the-job experience in shipyard metal fabrication
• Demonstrated knowledge of blueprint reading and ship terminology
• Strong burning, welding, and craftsmanship skills
• Mechanical ability preferred
• Able to pass a hands-on assessment test conducted by the shipyard

This role involves working at heights, in confined spaces, and on various shifts. The candidate must be able to comprehend written and verbal instructions, as well as read and follow safety instructions.

The estimated salary for this position is $55,000 - $70,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
