About the Role

The Migraine Field Access Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring patients have access to AbbVie's prescription-based migraine portfolio. As a field-based resource, you will work closely with healthcare providers to educate them on access and reimbursement options, providing expertise on coverage and reimbursement barriers to enhance the patient experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Educate healthcare providers on AbbVie-approved access and reimbursement support tools and services.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with providers, prioritizing travel and activities across the assigned geography.
  • Stay up-to-date on local, regional, and national payer policies to effectively educate providers on payer requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams in sales, market access, and patient service to implement effective communication strategies.
  • Identify and report on payer trends of approved products to patient services and market access account management teams.
  • Remain current on key managed care, reimbursement, and policy activities.
  • Utilize approved resources and data platforms to support HCP education initiatives that enhance the patient experience.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a biological science, business-related field, or equivalent.
  • At least 3 years of experience in neuroscience or a related market with field-based knowledge in account management, payer account management, and/or field-based account access and reimbursement.
  • Thorough understanding of payer policy processes, published criteria, and documentation for coverage, coding, prior authorization, and appeal processes.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the rules, regulations, and risks associated with provision of reimbursement support services.
  • Comprehensive understanding of commercial and governmental payer access dynamics.
  • Demonstrated success in territory and account management skills, preferably in neurology.
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to travel overnight, up to 50%, to efficiently work the assigned geography.
