**About the Role:**

We are seeking a skilled Recreation Leader to join our team in Newport Beach, CA. As a key member of our department, you will be responsible for creating a fun and engaging environment for our community.

Job Overview:

The Recreation Leader is a part-time position that involves leading recreation programs and activities for seniors and other age groups. This role requires a strong passion for working with diverse populations and a commitment to providing exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement recreational programs for seniors and other age groups
  • Lead group activities, including fitness classes, arts and crafts, and educational programs
  • Collaborate with program staff to ensure high-quality programming and services
  • Provide excellent customer service and respond to participant needs and concerns
  • Maintain accurate records and reports as required

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • A combination of experience and education that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities
  • One year of work or volunteer experience in recreation, childcare, facilities set-up and operations, or a related field
  • Experience working with the public in an interpretive or educational capacity (desired)
  • Red Cross CPR and First Aid certificates within six months of hire

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Some college-level coursework in natural sciences, marine biology, zoology, or a related subject (desired)
  • Possession of a valid California driver's license or the ability to utilize an alternative method of transportation when needed to carry out job-related essential functions
