About the Job

We are seeking a skilled Lead Acute Care Nursing Professional to join our team at NYC Health + Hospitals. In this role, you will be responsible for providing professional nursing care to patients in various health care specialties within acute care.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will have a valid New York State license and current registration to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse. They must also have one year of clinical nursing experience in the specialty area in which they will be assigned to float, as well as a valid and current certification in Basic Life Support through the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

  • Develops, implements, and evaluates the nursing regimen for assigned patients.
  • Selects and performs therapeutic measures essential for effective execution of the nursing regimen.
  • Records and maintains nursing care plans and progress notes on patients to ensure continuity of care.
  • Interprets and reports responses of patients to appropriate members of the health team.
  • Participates with interdisciplinary health team members to plan comprehensive patient care programs.
  • Determines and assigns components of the nursing regimen that may be carried out by allied nursing personnel.
  • Provides teaching, guidance, and direction to allied nursing personnel in rendering patient care.
  • Ensures a more highly-prepared nursing pool team by providing orientation on H+H processes, policies, and departments.
  • Participates in defining, implementing, maintaining, and interpreting standards of nursing practice.
  • Participates in departmental and interdisciplinary conferences pertaining to policies and procedures affecting nursing practice.

Salary Information

The estimated salary for this position is $75,000 - $90,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
