The Mission Engineering Department within the National and Defense Intelligence Division supports the Intelligence Community Chief Data Officer (IC CDO) in the Office of the Director of National Intelligence. We're seeking a full-time Project Leader (PL) to lead our efforts on the IC CDO project. This role will involve leading and executing all aspects of the project's workplans, shaping work products and recommendations that balance depth with timeliness and technical improvements with programmatic constraints.

This position offers an ideal blend of technical and leadership challenges, allowing you to develop your project leadership and technical skills while contributing to a distinctive project with cross-cutting IC impact. As a successful candidate, you'll possess initiative, creative leadership, demonstrated Program Management experience, and an in-depth understanding of data management policies, best practices, and technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement data management best practices to position the Intelligence Community's data for Artificial Intelligence (AI) readiness.
  • Evaluate proposed approaches to organize, store, and analyze data with attention to security and confidentiality, staying up-to-date with the latest data trends, technologies, and policies.
  • Evaluate and advise on data management techniques for enhancing data quality to ensure adequacy, accuracy, and legitimacy of data to enable data-driven decisions and quality data for use in AI models and systems.
  • Evaluate proposed approach for efficient and secure procedures for data handling, providing technical expertise in the areas of data storage structures, data mining, and data cleansing.
  • Provide guidance and approaches to resolve or mitigate complex data-related issues using expert knowledge and analysis, communicating complex information to individuals with various levels of IT knowledge.
  • Engage with MITRE Data departments and the government Senior Data Managers to provide strategic vision for data architecture, data content management, AI-readiness, and data analytics.

Benefits and Requirements:

  • A competitive salary range of $165,000 - $206,000 - $247,000 Annual, reflecting the importance of this role in driving strategic impact at MITRE.
  • A minimum of 10 years of related experience, typically requiring a Bachelor's degree; or 8 years and a Master's degree; or a PhD with 5 years' experience; or equivalent combination of related education and work experience.
  • 5+ years of leadership experience, demonstrating initiative, creative leadership, and proven ability to develop and shape work products and recommendations.
  • Superior customer engagement and communications skills, with experience in politically sensitive, high-risk customer contexts.
  • A Top Secret/SCI/Polygraph clearance, with the ability to obtain, within one year from the date of hire, the necessary clearance for this role.
