Job Summary

Hannaford Supermarkets is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Seafood Sales Associate to join our team. As a key member of our seafood department, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, maintaining a clean and organized store environment, and ensuring the highest quality products are available to our customers.

Key Responsibilities

* Develop and expand knowledge of seafood product storage and preparation techniques to ensure the highest quality products are available to our customers.
* Maintain a neat, well-groomed personal appearance at all times and comply with company personal appearance policy.
* Assist in special projects and perform other functions as assigned by supervision.
* Build and maintain ice wall to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
* Maintain solid communication in the department and throughout the organization to ensure seamless operations.
* Work within our company's management planning (MPP) guidelines to maintain productivity and meet sales targets.
* Support company safety standards and communicate any needed equipment repairs or maintenance work needed.
* Treat all co-workers with fairness and dignity and maintain a positive work environment.

Requirements

* Effective communication, customer service, and selling skills to provide exceptional customer service and meet sales targets.
* Effective interpersonal skills and desire to work in a team environment to maintain a positive work environment and ensure seamless operations.
* Demonstrated ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job to ensure the highest quality products are available to our customers.

Physical Requirements

* Tolerate working in extreme cold temperatures for up to 20 minutes at a time to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
* Stand or walk 100% of the time while working in an area surrounded by freezers and coolers filled with ice to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
* Lift cases of products weighing up to 50 lb. frequently to ensure the highest quality products are available to our customers.
* Meet established volume activity standards to ensure seamless operations and meet sales targets.
* Frequent reaching, grasping and lifting of products with arms fully extended: waist to shoulder height to ensure the highest quality products are available to our customers.
* Use hands to feel objects, use knives to open boxes/cases or to prepare and clean fish to ensure the highest quality products are available to our customers.
* Frequent bending to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
* Handle a variety of substances associated with cleaning materials, packaging materials, and food products to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.

Preferred Requirements

* Provide outstanding, friendly customer service to ensure exceptional customer satisfaction and meet sales targets.
* Communicate with and assist customers in selection of product to ensure exceptional customer satisfaction and meet sales targets.
* Cut, filet and display seafood to ensure the highest quality products are available to our customers.
* Process merchandise properly, paying careful attention to rotation of products according to prescribed standards to ensure the highest quality products are available to our customers.
* Perform assigned tasks such as replenishing merchandise, preparation of food products or setting up displays etc. to ensure seamless operations and meet sales targets.
* Maintain accurate, neat records of production, shrink, sales, and inventory to ensure seamless operations and meet sales targets.
* Package and display products according to customer demands to ensure exceptional customer satisfaction and meet sales targets.
* Wash, rinse, and sanitize equipment according to company policies to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.

Salary range is between $15.90 - $21.60 Hrly
