This exciting opportunity is available at VCU Health - MCV Physicians, a leading healthcare organization committed to delivering exceptional patient care. We are seeking an experienced Pediatrician to join our team as a Child Abuse Pediatrician.

Job Overview

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert evaluation of patients and families affected by abuse and neglect, as well as contributing to outstanding education and research initiatives within the General Pediatric Division.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teaching: Faculty member will have teaching responsibilities in the subspecialty area of child abuse under the division of General Pediatrics. They will provide guidance to residents, medical students, and other learners.
  • Research: Faculty member will secure revenue through grants and contracts in the field of quality and safety in provision of care. They will also serve as a research mentor to other members of the division.
  • Service: Faculty member will serve on departmental or School of Medicine level committees especially as these relate to quality and safety. They will also perform service at the local, regional, and national levels.
  • Clinical: Faculty member will serve as a Child Abuse Pediatrician for the Department of Pediatrics. They will participate in current and future MOUs providing medical direction for off-site health care facilities who are evaluating abuse and neglect victims within the Commonwealth of Virginia.
Requirements
  • Board certified or board eligible in Child Abuse Pediatrics
  • Experience with clinical care of patients ages birth to 21
  • Experience with education of house-staff, medical students, and others
  • Experience with research
  • Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU
  • Quality Improvement training/experience in general pediatrics
Salary Information

We offer a competitive salary range of $225,000 - $300,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
