Job Description

The Senior Corporate Lawyer will provide comprehensive legal support and advice to the company, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements and protecting the company's interests. This role requires a highly skilled legal professional with a strong background in corporate/commercial law, labor, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Legal Advisory and Support
  2. Provide expert legal advice on a wide range of legal issues, including contracts, corporate governance, regulatory compliance, labor, and litigation.
  3. Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and documents to align and protect the company's interests.
  4. Support business units with legal insights and solutions to facilitate business operations.
  5. Exercise other functions and perform other tasks as may be assigned by the Head of Legal of the company.
Compliance and Regulatory Management
  • Evaluate and ensure the company's operations comply with relevant laws, industry regulations, and internal policies.
  • Prepare and submit permit applications to relevant government agencies.
  • Liaise with government officials to facilitate the approval process.
  • Develop and implement compliance programs and policies to mitigate legal risks.
  • Conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure compliance and quality control.
Litigation and Dispute Resolution
  1. Manage and oversee litigation matters, including coordinating with external counsel.
  2. Develop strategies for dispute resolution and negotiate settlements to minimize legal exposure.
  3. Ensure effective management of all legal disputes and claims.
Candidate Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Law or Juris Doctor degree (LLB or equivalent). Licensed to practice law in the Philippines. Must be a member in good standing of the Philippine Bar.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of legal practice in a Philippine law firm, with at least 1 year experience as a senior associate in a Philippine law firm. Must have at least 1 year experience as in-house (company) legal counsel in a company that is part of a conglomerate or in a multinational company. Legal practice focuses on corporate/commercial law, regulatory compliance, and labor law.
  • Technical Skills: Strong understanding of corporate/commercial law, regulatory compliance, labor, and litigation.
  • Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, detail-oriented, and with the ability to identify issues and develop effective solutions.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders and counterparties at various levels.
