Job Description:

As a skilled Estimator, you will be responsible for creating accurate and detailed cost estimates for various construction projects. You will collaborate closely with project managers, suppliers, and clients to ensure all aspects of each project are considered. This role requires a strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and labor costs, as well as the ability to manage multiple estimates simultaneously.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare detailed cost estimates.
  • Determine material, labor, and equipment needs for projects.
  • Obtain and compare quotes from suppliers and subcontractors to ensure competitive pricing.
  • Work with project managers to ensure estimates align with project timelines and client requirements.
  • Communicate with clients to clarify scope of work and answer any questions about estimates.
  • Track changes in project scope and adjust estimates as necessary.
  • Maintain records of estimates, bids, and project costs for future reference.
  • Stay up to date with market trends, construction techniques, and pricing.
Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in construction estimating, preferably with a subcontractor.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and labor costs.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications.
  • Proficient in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.
