Papermaking Developmental Manufacturing Engineer

Georgia-Pacific is seeking a motivated individual to join our Engineering Development Program as a Papermaking Developmental Manufacturing Engineer. This role offers a unique opportunity to develop into a proficient manufacturing engineer, supported by a team of experienced professionals and leaders in the field.

Key Responsibilities
• Develop expertise in manufacturing knowledge and skills through guided and self-directed activities.
• Collaborate with mill operations and cross-functional teams to understand and improve paper-making processes, focusing on safety, quality, productivity, and cost-efficiency.
• Innovate and optimize operating parameters for various papermaking processes and share knowledge to strengthen the skills of the operations team.
• Enhance efficiency by developing and implementing strategies to improve the standardization and efficiency of paper machine assets.
• Engage with mentors and subject matter experts to acquire operational, technical, and leadership capabilities.
• Facilitate learning by conducting sessions to disseminate knowledge within the manufacturing environment.
• Work with an awareness of safety protocols, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and others.

Requirements
• Enrolled in a degree or alternative program in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Paper Science Engineering, or equivalent.
• Eligible for full-time employment on or before Summer 2025.
• Legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship.
• Willing to travel up to 50% on average for the first two years to various facilities for professional development.
