About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Meat Department Maintenance Associate to join our team at Fresh Grocer. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in delivering exceptional customer service.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a clean, neat, organized, and safe work environment in the Meat Department. This includes cleaning and sanitizing all work surfaces, utensils, and equipment, as well as monitoring inventory levels of cleaning supplies and chemicals. The ideal candidate will also have excellent communication skills and be able to work effectively with colleagues to achieve department goals.

Main Responsibilities
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to company health and safety standards.
  • Clean and sanitize all work surfaces, utensils, and equipment, following established procedures.
  • Monitor inventory levels of cleaning supplies and chemicals, reporting low levels to management.
  • Work cooperatively with colleagues to meet department goals and objectives.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, analyze, interpret, and understand the English language.
  • Basic math skills required.
  • Ability to stand/walk for the duration of a scheduled shift.
  • Ability to work in varying temperatures.
  • Adhere to all local, state, and federal health and civil code regulations.
  • Ability to stand, bend, twist, reach, push, pull, and regularly lift 35 lbs., and occasionally lift 80-90 lbs.
  • Ability to work with fresh, dried, and/or processed products, spices, and powdered substances without negative allergic consequences.
  • Ability to tolerate dust and cleaning agents during routine housekeeping duties.
  • Ability to interact with customers in a friendly and helpful way.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with others.
  • Ability to work all assigned work schedules and comply with all time and attendance policies.
Working Conditions

This role requires working in an environment that includes continuous duties in refrigerated cutting rooms and storage areas (relatively high humidity) with occasional duties in frozen food storage boxes maintained at temperatures as low as 20 degrees (Fahrenheit) below zero.

Salary and Benefits

The estimated annual salary for this position is $40,000 - $50,000, depending on experience. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a range of benefits, including health insurance, paid time off, and opportunities for professional development.
