Nursing Assistant Faculty Opportunity

Olympic College is seeking a motivated and caring Nursing Assistant Faculty member to join our team. As an adjunct faculty member, you will play a vital role in teaching and mentoring students in our Nursing Assistant program.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and teach courses in the Nursing Assistant program, providing a supportive and inclusive learning environment for students.
  • Develop and maintain accurate records of student progress and completed forms as required.
  • Collaborate with the Nursing Assistant Program Director to ensure the program's philosophy and conceptual framework are reflected in course content.
  • Provide clinical supervision and evaluation, ensuring students receive high-quality instruction and feedback.
  • Document student progress, determine individualized plans for success, and attend clinical orientation and faculty meetings.
  • Participate in program academic assessment processes, contributing to the maintenance of approval status for the WA Nursing Care Quality Assurance Commission.
  • Engage in scholarly activities, establish and maintain relations with internal and external constituencies, and collaborate with peers and the Nursing Assistant Program Director.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) from an accredited College or University.
  • Minimum of one year experience within the past three years in caring for the elderly or chronically ill of any age.
  • Current, unencumbered, RN license in WA state or ability to obtain WA RN licensure before employment.
  • Current American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Providers certification.
  • Experience with supervision of nursing assistants and basic level computer competency, including Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Completion of a course in adult instruction.
  • Experience teaching adults over and above in-service education or patient teaching.
