Job Summary

The Exercise Physiologist provides clinical expertise and helps coordinate daily clinical activities in the cardiopulmonary rehabilitation programs. This role requires effective communication with patients, families, visitors, colleagues, physicians, leadership, and volunteers to achieve top-decile results and outcomes for patient experience, quality, and patient safety.

Responsibilities
  • Provides cardiac and pulmonary testing, including metabolic exercise/pulmonary stress, Pulmonary Function Testing (PFT): DLCO, spirometry, and lung volumes.
  • Follows and adheres to ARHS policies and procedures; regulatory requirements and standards of behavior.
  • Coordinates daily clinical activities in the cardiopulmonary rehabilitation programs.
  • Communicates effectively with patients, families, visitors, colleagues, physicians, leadership, and volunteers.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Physiology required.
  • Masters prepared Exercise Physiologist with teaching experience, preferred.
  • Two years of work experience (or equivalent clinical internship) specific to Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation.
  • Certifications related to the field of exercise physiology and diagnostic cardiac/pulmonary function will be considered important and/or required.
Working Conditions

Regularly exposed to the risk of blood borne diseases. Frequently exposed to hazards from electrical/mechanical/power equipment; odorous chemicals and specimens; and, unpleasant elements (accident, injury, slippery surfaces uneven surfaces), etc.

Subject to irregular hours (days, evenings, nights, weekends, holidays); and emergency situations.
