The Opportunity
This position works out of our location in Maple Grove, MN, supporting R&D IT in Abbott's Medical Device Division. As the Technical Database Engineer Lead, you'll create technical specifications, support applications, deploy systems/platforms, automate operations, and build tools for deployment and monitoring setup. You'll collaborate with other IT operational teams to enable development teams to release medical device software and systems rapidly.

Responsibilities
You'll manage ODB environments for production, reporting, disaster recovery, training, and non-production needs. You'll install and maintain administrative and monitoring tools for high availability and performance. You'll understand performance metrics, monitor system performance, and troubleshoot issues. You'll apply upgrades and updates to production and non-production environments and configure environment copies according to the environment strategy.

Requirements
We need someone with strong Unix skills, knowledge of operating system concepts, and proficiency in command shells like Korn or POSIX. You should be able to create processes for successful maintenance procedures execution and be familiar with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices. Experience with containerization, repository management, and version control is essential. Deploying applications and infrastructure to Azure cloud environments is also necessary. Familiarity with automated testing and test-driven development practices is a must.

Salary
The estimated salary range for this position is $95,000 - $190,000, depending on the location.
