Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Compensation and Benefits Strategist to join our team. This role will play a critical part in the analysis and administration of our compensation program, ensuring compliance with applicable governmental rules and regulations.


Key Responsibilities
  • Researches, evaluates, designs, plans, and implements equitable compensation programs that align with business objectives, internal equity, and market competitiveness.
  • Contributes effectively to projects related to base and premium pay, at-risk pay programs, survey administration, communications, merit programs, and cost impact analyses.
  • Maintains standards for benchmarking compensation to ensure consistency in methodologies and aid in the analysis of compensation model effectiveness and the identification of best practices.
  • Participates in and interprets surveys to maintain Central Maine Medical Center's competitive position regarding benchmark jobs and local, regional, and national markets.
  • Anticipates internal and external business challenges and/or regulatory issues.
  • Maintains current knowledge on regulations impacting compensation decisions, including FLSA classification, and advises management on applicable state and federal employment regulations, benefits, and compensation policies, human resource procedures.
  • Prepares and/or maintains job descriptions for each position in the organization, ensuring they accurately reflect the work being performed by incumbents.

Requirements
  • Expert knowledge of compensation principles.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience using HRIS systems, with Workday experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with HR best practices, employment laws, and regulations associated with affirmative action, EEO/AA, and Fair Labor Standards.
  • Strong analytical, verbal, and written skills, with demonstration of systems thinking.
  • Ability to think critically about and problem-solve with data to answer questions and provide insight.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to review and analyze data to ensure accuracy.
  • Must have strong qualitative and analytical skills and maintain a strong attention to detail.
  • Must work well independently with a high level of responsibility, ability to navigate effectively in matrix environments, and ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong business acumen and interpersonal skills; strong business writing and verbal communication skills to effectively present ideas.
  • Demonstrated ability to partner with complex businesses to understand business needs and develop recommendations.

As a Compensation and Benefits Strategist at Central Maine Medical Center, you will enjoy a competitive salary range of $85,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience.
