Project Surveyor Job Description

Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking a skilled Project Surveyor to contribute to our Mt. Arlington, NJ office.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze and prepare comprehensive boundary surveys by compiling record data and providing sound analysis and reasoning for accurate property line location.
  • Perform quality control reviews on reports, plans, specifications, cost estimates, and other contract documents prepared by others for accuracy and completeness.
  • Provide accurate computations for the layout of subdivisions, roads, and lots as well as buildings and utilities.
  • Assist staff in the preparation of reports, findings, plans, and other contract documents.
  • Organize and coordinate the work of field and office staff required to complete design, field, and/or other tasks on complex projects.
  • Assist in the preparation of project/task work plans.
  • Provide direction to staff to complete project objectives.
  • Monitor the work efforts of assigned staff, including sub-consultants and/or contractors.
  • May supervise assignments given to the Survey Technician(s).
Requirements:
  • Associate degree preferred, or equivalent technical experience.
  • 5+ years of related experience.
  • Advanced proficiency in Civil 3D, TBC (Trimble Business Center), and MicroStation.
  • Proficient in various data techniques and coding systems.
  • Advanced knowledge of surveying instruments, techniques, and computations.
  • Advanced understanding of angular and linear measurement systems.
  • Advanced knowledge of trigonometry and geometry.
  • Valid driver's license required and ability to operate a motor vehicle. MVR will be checked and monitored.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.
