Job Description
As a Respiratory Therapist with our team, you will play a crucial role in assisting with the diagnosis, treatment, and management of patients with pulmonary disorders. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Collecting and analyzing sputum, blood, and breath specimens to determine oxygen, carbon dioxide, and other gas levels.
- Measuring lung capacity to assess impaired function.
- Administering prescribed treatments for breathing abnormalities.
- Oversight of respiratory therapy technicians.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you must have:
- Graduation from a program approved by CoArc (Committee on Accreditation for Respiratory Care).
- Licensure as a respiratory care practitioner by the South Carolina Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulations Board of Medical Examiners.
- Credentialed as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the National Board for Respiratory Care.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) or equivalent provider.
