UI Designer Job Description

We are seeking a talented UI Designer to join our team at Applied Technical Systems. As a UI Designer, you will play a crucial role in creating, improving, and innovating user-friendly interfaces that drive our product's success.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Participate in a design process that involves research, experimentation, and revision to deliver high-quality user interfaces.
  • Incorporate usability testing feedback to ensure our products meet the needs of our users.
  • Elicit constructive feedback and interpret it into design solutions that meet our users' needs.
  • Perform field research to discover and implement important design details that enhance the user experience.
  • Collaborate with developers and product management to ensure seamless integration of design and development.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodology is a plus.
Requirements:
  • Ability to solve complex design challenges with creativity, efficiency, and precision.
  • Full-stack design skills, including interaction, usability, graphic design, HTML, and CSS.
  • Experience in building web sites and applications, with a strong understanding of how they work.
  • Comfortable designing for web browsing across various devices, including desktops, laptops, iPads, and smartphones.
  • Self-directed, confident, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken, with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • U.S. citizenship and eligibility to obtain required clearance.
Desirable Skills:
  • Minimum of 3-4 years of web and user application design experience.
  • Able to integrate UX into Agile development practices.
  • Strong visual design skills, including latest trends, color, and typography.
  • Strong interaction design skills, including wireframing, prototyping, HTML5, and CSS3.
  • Passion for semantic markup and standards.
  • Experience in developing graphic assets scalable for mobile devices.
