Position Overview:
This role involves performing essential custodial and light maintenance tasks within municipal buildings and surrounding areas. The position requires interaction with the public, providing basic information and assistance as needed.

Supervision:
This position operates under the direct supervision of the Senior Center Administrator or designated supervisory personnel. No supervisory responsibilities are assigned.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Maintain cleanliness by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and polishing floors.
2. Dust and polish furniture, fixtures, and surfaces.
3. Manage waste disposal by emptying and cleaning receptacles.
4. Ensure restrooms are sanitized and stocked with necessary supplies.
5. Perform minor repairs and maintenance tasks as required.
6. Secure buildings by closing windows, turning off lights, and locking doors.
7. Maintain equipment and supplies in good working order.
8. Engage with the public in a courteous manner, providing information as needed.

Knowledge and Skills Required:
- Familiarity with safe cleaning practices and the use of custodial tools.
- Basic understanding of facility maintenance techniques.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
- Strong interpersonal skills for effective public interaction.

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Six months of experience in custodial or janitorial work is preferred.

Working Conditions:
Must be available for flexible shifts, including weekends and emergency call-backs. Exposure to cleaning chemicals is expected.

Physical Requirements:
Ability to perform custodial duties, including lifting up to 70 pounds, standing for extended periods, and using cleaning equipment safely.
