About Us


Girls on the Run of Northeast Wisconsin is a local nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering girls to be joyful, healthy, and confident. Our mission-driven program creatively integrates running into a fun, experience-based curriculum that promotes self-esteem, whole-person health, and life skills.


We are one of nearly 200 GOTR chapters across the US and Canada, with a strong commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Our team works collaboratively to bring our mission to life in the Northeast Wisconsin community.


Job Summary


The Executive Director will provide leadership, vision, and strategic direction to the organization, working closely with our small but dynamic team. This role oversees organizational development, strategic planning, financial management, and program delivery, while building relationships with key stakeholders, including donors, sponsors, and volunteers.


Main Responsibilities


Our Executive Director will:



  • Develop and Foster Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with the Board of Directors, Girls on the Run International, and other key stakeholders.
  • Lead Organizational Development: Develop and implement strategic plans, optimize financial performance, and oversee program delivery.
  • Manage Financial Operations: Ensure optimal financial performance, maintain internal financial controls, and develop annual budgets.
  • Foster Community Engagement: Develop partnerships with local organizations, build relationships with the media, and promote our program through Cause Related Marketing.
  • Provide Strategic Leadership: Drive decision-making, set priorities, and make recommendations to the Board of Directors.

Requirements


To succeed in this role, you'll need:



  • 3+ years of demonstrated experience in nonprofit management or a related field.
  • Proven track record of leading performance-based organizations and staff.
  • Strong organizational management skills, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
  • Passion for our mission and a deep understanding of empowerment, self-esteem, body image, and whole-person health.
  • Dedication to diversity, equity, and inclusion, with a commitment to IDEA principles.
  • Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities.

This salaried position offers a competitive salary range of $52,000 - $57,000 annually, depending on experience. Additionally, you'll enjoy:
