About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Associate Director, Clinical Coding Education to join our team at CenterWell. As a key member of our Clinical Education team, you will play a critical role in improving provider documentation and creating tailored education plans for our assigned providers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Determine clinician coding education strategy in collaboration with the Clinical Education team and CDI Medical Director.
  • Align clinician coding education strategy with organizational MRA goals, working closely with AVP Coding and AVP MRA Strategy.
  • Develop a roadmap for clinician coding education based on upcoming changes to the V28 model.
  • Gain buy-in for coding education strategy from division CMOs, clinical leaders, and clinician educators.
  • Work closely with the Coding team and Coder Education teams to incorporate performance data and input into clinician education strategy.
  • Develop, design, and deploy clinician coding education, leveraging coding educators on your team to provide education to providers in partnership with clinician educators.
  • Seek feedback and secure buy-in for ongoing education from clinical leaders.
  • Develop and maintain a scorecard to assess the effectiveness of clinician coding training, and socialize training data with key clinical leaders.
  • Supervise and develop a team of divisional coding educators (East, West, Florida) to provide clinician education in partnership with clinician educators.
Requirements
  • Active RN license.
  • Minimum five years' experience in risk adjustment coding, auditing, and/or education, working with providers.
  • CPC (Certified Professional Coder) AHIMA or AAPC Certification required.
  • Minimum of three years' experience in a clinic setting, preferably in Value-based Care space.
  • Minimum of two years' experience leading large-scale projects across a matrixed organization.
  • Minimum of two years' leadership experience.
  • Knowledge of EMR.
  • In-depth knowledge of risk adjustment key performance indicators.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
