Job Description

DQE Communications, a leading provider of fiber-optic Internet and data network services in the Pittsburgh metropolitan area, seeks an Account Manager to join its team. This is a hybrid in-office role requiring local residency in the Pittsburgh area.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop account plans to manage growth and retention activities for medium-sized enterprise clients, small service providers, and resellers of DQE services.
  • Create account profiles, strategies, and facilitate tasks to deliver exceptional customer experiences.
  • Identify and secure orders for additional revenue opportunities through up-selling, proposals, marketing promotions, expiring services, and contracts.
  • Process customer order requests for moves, adds, changes, and disconnects, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
  • Monitor account activities, such as Customer Alerts, trouble tickets, billing adjustments, and collection reports, and follow up as necessary to maintain customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain a sales funnel through ongoing communications with assigned customers.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and terms specified in Master Service Agreements.
  • Present solutions persuasively, linking benefits to clients' business objectives and needs.
  • Qualify opportunities by understanding customers' businesses, buying processes, requirements, and expectations.
Requirements:
  • A strong understanding of the telecommunications industry and experience selling internet services are preferred.
  • Familiarity with DQE's product portfolio, including SD WAN, Voice & Unified Communications, SASE, and Cybersecurity.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, utilizing various communication vehicles.
  • Active listening and interpersonal skills.
  • Conflict management and dispute resolution capabilities.
  • An energetic, positive, and customer-friendly attitude.
  • The ability to adapt to changing work requirements and multi-task efficiently.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and Outlook.
  • Experience with ERP and CRM Systems, preferably NetSuite and HubSpot.
Education and Experience:
  • A Bachelor's degree in business or telecommunications, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A minimum of 2 years of direct sales/account management experience, with a proven track record in up-selling, product positioning, and customer service.
  • Inside Sales, Outside Sales, or Appointment Generating experience.
  • A background in selling technology-based solutions with a targeted monthly sales quota.

$85,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience.
