Job Title: Rugby Server

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Rugby Server to join our team at The Townsend Hotel. As a Rugby Server, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our guests, ensuring a memorable dining experience.

Responsibilities:

• Take guest orders and ensure proper presentation and timing of all food and beverages.
• Open and close guest checks, utilizing proper cash handling procedures.
• Work with computerized P.O.S. operations and maintain knowledge of menu and wine pairings.
• Communicate effectively with guests, expediter, bartender, server assistants, and management.
• Observe guests to formulate ideas that exceed their expectations.
• Provide recommendations to increase check average and execute table side preparations efficiently.
• Understand the Rugby Grille seating chart, table numbers, and seat numbers in the dining room.
• Establish a positive rapport with guests throughout the dining experience.
• Offer, describe, and present specials and items of interest to guests.
• Attend pre-meal meetings and perform necessary side work throughout the shift.
• Monitor assigned tables and provide ongoing service.
• Provide feedback to management on compliments, problems, and complaints.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years of fine dining experience preferred.
• High school graduate or equivalent required.
• Ability to communicate with guests in English.
• TIPS alcohol certification required.

Working Conditions:

• Requires full mobility for entire duration of shift, walking, standing, bending, stretching, lifting.
• Ability to use stairs and or service elevators.
• Must be able to safely grasp, lift, carry or otherwise move goods weighing up to 30 lbs.
