About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Engineer II to join our team at Raytheon. As a key member of our Operations Engineering group, you will be responsible for providing critical support to our Circuit Card Assembly Factory in Andover, MA.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the operation of SMT Process lines, including automated and programmable equipment, for multiple products.
  • Develop and implement process improvements, cycle time reductions, and defect prevention strategies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish process baseline metrics, SPC implementation, and defect prevention initiatives.
  • Lead root cause and corrective action investigations to solve problems and prevent recurrence.
  • Participate in process improvement and cost reduction initiatives using Lean Manufacturing methodology.
  • Develop and maintain manufacturing process documentation, including engineering design requirements and formal manufacturing process documentation.
  • Interact with senior personnel on technical matters, often requiring coordination between organizations and/or suppliers.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge and experience with ANSI J-STD-001 Class 3 & IPC-CC-830.
  • Experience in applying Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Experience supporting circuit card assembly production floor, (process and/or quality focus).
  • Specialized tooling development (Jigs, Fixtures, Specialized Packaging Development).
  • Experience supporting the following equipment: SMT Screen Printers and Solder Paste Inspection Machines, SMT Adhesive Placement Machines, SMT Component Placement Machines, Automated Optical inspection Machines, Reflow Ovens, X-Ray Inspection Equipment and touch up operations.
  • Knowledge and ability to apply Six Sigma principles and techniques.
  • Innovative mindset that drives continuous improvement and keeps pace with advances in technology.
  • Demonstrated hands-on mechanical aptitude with the ability to work across disciplines.
  • Proficiency with CAD solid modeling tools.
  • Active DoD security clearance (confidential).
  • Experience with automated equipment and programming.
