About the Role

Gannett Fleming is a recognized leader in transportation operations and engineering, with over 400 assignments worldwide. We address prime transportation client concerns, including reducing fuel consumption and emissions, managing incidents, and providing vital traveler information. Our capabilities include intelligent transportation systems, freeway and arterial management, performance measurement, traffic signal systems, traffic management center staffing and support, freight operations, tolling and pricing systems, road weather management, and public transportation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform engineering design services throughout the project life-cycle, from concept through construction.
  • Work with clients and other disciplines to prepare appropriate designs, as dictated by the scope of work.
  • Lead tasks and projects, analyzing moderate to complex design problems requiring the development of new or improved techniques or procedures.
  • Provide direction to younger staff, developing engineering drawings, specifications, cost estimates, and preparing final bid packages.
  • Communicate with clients on task-oriented issues and project issues under the direction of the project manager.
  • Use strong writing skills and engineering planning to develop guidance documents and reports, such as systems engineering documents.
  • Interact with clients to relay clear, concise, and consistent project-related updates.
  • Participate in projects by completing tasks within schedule and budget.
  • Prepare correspondence, reports, and electronic communications.
  • Participate in meetings, seminars, conferences, and committees.
  • Occasional project site visits and field work.
  • Review project documents for conformity and quality assurance.
  • Provide constructability evaluations.
  • Participate in the development of proposals as part of a pursuit team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Civil or Electrical preferred) or relevant discipline.
  • Professional Engineer license required.
  • 8-12 years' experience working in a relevant field.
  • Expertise with CADD.
  • Expertise with MS Office.
  • Ability to travel as needed.
  • Some experience with management of project tasks.
