We are seeking an experienced Senior Commercial Credit Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial credit underwriting, with at least 3 years of SBA experience.

About the Role

This role focuses on underwriting new SBA-guaranteed term loans in a timely and competitive manner, ensuring compliance with the bank's SBA underwriting standards, policies, and all applicable state and federal laws and regulations.

  • Underwrite SBA-guaranteed loans, ensuring compliance with SBA eligibility requirements as outlined in SBA SOP guidelines, as well as adherence to the bank's credit policies.
  • Perform financial spreading and conduct in-depth cash flow analysis to assess borrower financial health.

The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing SBA term loans, recommending risk rating upgrades or downgrades when necessary, and staying current with the latest SOP updates. They will also provide expert SBA guidance to Underwriters, Credit Analysts, Processors, and Marketing Officers.

Requirements

To be considered for this position, applicants should possess:

  • In-depth knowledge of SBA loan programs, including Express Loans, 7(a), and 504.
  • Familiarity with the e-Tran system is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey complex information.
