About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at KIK Consumer Products. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing facilities and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Modify, repair, install, maintain, improve, and troubleshoot various types of machinery, equipment, and facilities in the processing and packaging departments.
  • Diagnose mechanical problems and provide quick and innovative solutions for mechanical equipment breakdowns by applying proven skills in the principles of mechanics, fitting, plumbing, basic welding, metal fabrication, machining, troubleshooting, and analytical problem solving.
  • Operate a mill, lathe, drill press, grinder, saws, hand tools, and all other machine shop tools.
  • Setup, takedown, and relocation of Process and Packaging equipment.
  • Frequently modify packaging and process equipment for new products.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and safety inspections.
  • Provide solutions to routine or unique equipment problems.
  • Promptly respond to equipment-related issues with a customer-oriented manner.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical problems, including process instrumentation/control systems, 24-volt DC, 120/480-volt AC systems, variable speed drives, and PLC-related issues (primarily Allen Bradley but some Siemens systems may also be included).
  • Independently identify and repair equipment issues within assigned areas with minimal supervision.
Requirements
  • 2 or more years of mechanical experience in a high-speed packaging and/or manufacturing environment (food industry is highly preferred).
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED).
  • Possess strong oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills.
  • Good knowledge of preventative maintenance programs.
  • Must be flexible to work Shift Work (days, afternoons, nights, and weekends).
  • Shifts are 10 hours and can be extended to 12.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with lots of changes.
  • Excellent knowledge of Health & Safety and Lockout Procedures.
  • Working knowledge of computerized maintenance management software's an asset.
  • Must pay attention to details with a customer service attitude.
  • Strong team player with excellent problem-solving skills.
