We are seeking a skilled Critical Care Nurse Specialist to join our team at Sky Lakes Medical Center.

Job Summary

This is a 13-week contract position with a guaranteed salary of $145,000.00 per year.

About the Role

The Critical Care Nurse Specialist will provide high-quality patient care in our emergency department, working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal outcomes.

This role requires a strong foundation in critical care nursing, with experience in managing complex cases and making informed decisions in fast-paced environments.

Responsibilities
  • Assess and manage patients with acute and chronic conditions, including trauma, stroke, and psychiatric emergencies
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans, ensuring effective communication with healthcare teams and families
  • Collaborate with medical staff to coordinate patient transfers, procedures, and interventions
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient interactions, treatments, and outcomes
  • Participate in performance improvement initiatives, identifying areas for growth and contributing to quality enhancement projects
Requirements
  • BLS, ACLS, ENPC or PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC certifications
  • Experience in mental health, ETOH, and overdose management
  • Familiarity with common diagnoses, such as CP, COPD, DKA, trauma, and stroke
  • Ability to work flexible shifts, including days, midnights, and nights, with a rotation schedule
