PACU Manager

Mass General Brigham is seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse Manager to lead the Perianesthesia Department. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of patient flow and perianesthesia department operations, with a proven ability to work well independently and make effective decisions in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities- Direct the efficient flow and movement of patients to and from the PACU department.
- Establish effective communications with nursing management, anesthesia floor leader, surgeon, and hospital administration to ensure efficient utilization of the PACU department.
- Ensure that optimum utilization is maintained with minimum use of overtime and additional staff.
- Develop and maintain a plan of organization which facilitates congruency with organizational goals.
- Monitor the accuracy of the Epic scheduling program and interact with Information Systems to ensure that the integrity of the system is maintained.
- Graduated from an approved school of nursing; bachelor's degree required, MSN preferred.
- Current license to practice as a registered nurse in the State of Massachusetts.
- Extensive knowledge of patient flow and perianesthesia department operations.
- Proven ability to work well independently, possess sound decision making skills and work effectively when required to make and facilitate complex decisions.
