Medical Professional for Veterans Disability Assessments

Central Point, Oregon, United States MRG Exams Full time

We are seeking a dedicated medical professional to conduct assessments for United States Veterans in relation to their disability benefits. This part-time role requires a current Nurse Practitioner license and involves reviewing medical records, performing focused physical exams without making disability determinations, documenting findings electronically, and working with an average of 3-5 Veterans each day in a clinical setting.

This role plays a crucial part in the VA's disability benefits process by providing independent medical assessments. As a medical professional, you will review medical records electronically through a web portal and perform a focused, in-person physical exam on each Veteran.

You will document the exam findings required by the VA through the web portal. It is essential to note that you will not make disability determinations; the United States Veterans Administration makes all such decisions.

This position performs Disability Assessments on 3-5 Veterans per day, on average, and works three days a week from 8am-4pm. The role is perfect for individuals interested in performing independent medical assessments, analyzing data from medical records and exam findings to complete questionnaires, and forming medical opinions.

The ideal candidate will have excellent time management skills, be able to stay on task, and meet requirements. Additionally, they must hold a current and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license and be proficient in using a computer.

The benefits of this role include training and continued support provided, health insurance options available, a computer supplied, and a typical day involving 3 to 5 patients. You would find it rewarding to serve the Veteran community, work a set schedule during normal business hours, and never be on call. All work is performed in a clinical setting.
