Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant, Revenue Accounting to join our team at Brightspeed. As a key member of our Revenue Accounting team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and review complex journal entries for revenue accounting activities, including billed revenue, recognized vs deferred revenue, and financial statements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement processes, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with ASC-606 guiding principles.
  • Develop and maintain financial models and forecasts to support revenue recognition and financial reporting.
  • Provide accounting guidance and support to business stakeholders and finance partners to ensure adherence to applicable guidance, policies, and processes.
  • Assist with the implementation of SAP BRIM billing system and migration of legacy billing systems.
  • Prepare and review various balance sheet account reconciliations to ensure proper supporting documentation.
  • Support the preparation of monthly financial management reports and analyze income statement and balance sheet fluctuations.
  • Liaise with teams across multiple departments and locations to obtain and distribute financial information.
  • Provide support for external and internal audit activities as necessary.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • CPA required.
  • 3+ years of accounting experience in a corporate accounting or financial reporting setting.
  • Working knowledge of ASC-606 principles.
  • 2+ years of revenue accounting experience using ASC-606 guiding principles.
  • Experience organizing a large volume of information and identifying and deploying automation tools and solutions.
  • Proficiency in the use of database tools and financial reporting packages.
  • Clear communicator, experience running meetings effectively, and to explain complex concepts to a non-technical audience.
  • Complete ownership and accountability of the function given the deadline-oriented nature of the position.
  • Adaptable to changing business environment and organizational structure.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Experience with SAP and/or RAR.
  • Experience with billing system implementations and migrations.
  • Background in the telecommunications industry.
