Job Summary

The Design Engineer II will play a key role in supporting the growth of our Couplings business in the global market. This role involves cross-functional work with our global teams to select and design couplings based on customer specifications and drawings to develop reliable and cost-effective solutions, and create technical documentation such as engineering drawings, bill of materials (BOMs), and layouts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develops reliable and cost-effective coupling solutions, considering manufacturability and ease of installation and maintenance.
  • Organizes, analyzes, and summarizes test data.
  • Assists with the development of new customers and helps qualify new or existing products for customer applications.
  • Performs and leads failure analyses, including detailed root cause analysis with effective corrective actions.
  • Leads the use of 3D CAD models along with FEA tools to design and analyze products.
  • Visits customers to provide technical training, sales presentations, and support for coupling installation or failure analysis.
  • Supports product and manufacturing transfers and restructuring projects.
  • Leads and supports Continuous Improvement (CI) projects and Kaizen events to improve efficiency.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or other related fields or equivalent job experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in an engineering department, designing industrial products.
  • Proven understanding and application of lean concepts such as Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen, 5S, GEMBA, and Root Cause Analysis in line with the Regal Rexnord Business Systems.
  • Customer-focused with a strong technical background and commercial aptitude and interest.
  • Ability to coordinate activities and influence others in a cross-functional environment and capable of working with minimal supervision.
  • Competent in Microsoft computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Previous experience designing rotating equipment (e.g. Solidworks) is preferred.
  • Familiarity with CAD & FEA (e.g. SolidWorks, Creo, Solid Edge, or AutoCAD & ANSYS, Abaqus, or Nastran) is preferred.
