Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Performing quality assurance activities related to engineering, inspection, and observation on construction projects.
  • Conducting field inspections of existing water, sewer, road, and other infrastructure.
  • Communicating effectively with contractors and subcontractors on private and public projects.
  • Reviewing work in progress for quantities, quality, and accuracy.
  • Managing project completion QC Checklists.
  • Interpreting construction plans, standards, and specifications.
  • Inspecting construction to ensure compliance with contract documents, contract drawings, and specifications.

Required Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • An Associate's Degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering.
  • Minimum two (2) years of applicable experience in the construction industry.
  • Basic knowledge of construction instruments/tools.
  • Ability to read, understand, and interpret spec books, blueprints, maps.
  • Able to work individually or as a team.
  • Ability to learn new field technologies.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

The majority of work is completed outside at the construction site and in an office trailer where the project is monitored, and daily decisions are made about construction activities. The position is often exposed to sounds and loud noises, such as construction equipment. The job requires the wearing of protective equipment when on the construction site. Temperatures and conditions may vary depending on the weather and seasons.
