Youth Development Program Assistant Teacher Position

Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Youth Development Program Assistant Teacher to join our team. This role will provide support to the Site Coordinator in developing and implementing daily lesson plans, preparing materials, and maintaining records of attendance and arrival/departure times.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in planning and leading daily activities, ensuring a safe and engaging environment for participants.
- Prepare materials and resources for daily activities, aligning with YMCA standards and best practices.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, arrival, and departure times, as well as weekly lesson plans for parents.
- Provide regular updates to parents on individual activities and progress.
- Maintain supervision of children during program hours, ensuring their safety and well-being.
- Support Site Supervisor with parent-teacher conferences as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized classroom environment, adhering to YMCA standards.
Requirements:
- Six months to one year of experience in youth development or a related field; or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Ability to interact with diverse populations, including children, parents, and colleagues.
- Certifications in CPR, First Aid, and AED-Oxygen required within 60 days of employment.
- State of Michigan criminal background clearance (ICHAT) required.
Compensation and Benefits:
This position offers a competitive hourly rate of $15.00-$19.50, depending on experience. Additionally, benefits include:

Travel Requirements:
This role may require occasional travel within the state of Michigan for educational conferences or training.
