Job Summary:

The Pharmacy Professional will be responsible for evaluating physician medication orders for appropriateness of drug, dosage, potential interactions, and route of administration. This role will also involve making recommendations for therapy changes to the physician and facility staff as appropriate.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluating physician medication orders for appropriateness
  • Making recommendations for therapy changes
  • Maintaining patient/resident database
  • Ordering and evaluating laboratory tests
  • Documenting communication in medical records
  • Implementing drug safety policies
  • Maintaining regulatory documentation

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy - prefer Pharm D preferred
  • One year experience in pharmacy - long-term care preferred
  • Current MD State License

Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of pharmacy laws and federal and state regulations concerning long-term care and pharmaceutical care practices for long-term care residents
  • Ability to work cooperatively as a member of a team

Work Environment:

This is a fully on-site position in a close-door pharmacy with a 12-hour facility. The shift is 4pm - 12am with flexibility to work on weekends and other shifts as needed.
