Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Director Assistant to join our team at Great Lakes Management Company. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional support to the Executive Director, ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities, and delivering outstanding resident services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative support to the Executive Director, including coordination of internal services, oversight of activities and events, and communication with residents and their families.
  • Supervise staff, giving direction, administering necessary corrections, and evaluating performance on a regular basis.
  • Assist in identifying additional staffing needs and assist with the recruitment and evaluation of potential departmental employees as needed.
  • Work directly with clients as needed in conjunction with staff to address individual needs and assist with housing decisions.
  • Coordinate the continuum of personal and health services to ensure appropriate placement within our facility.

Requirements:

  • Four-year degree in a related field plus at least two years of experience working in Senior Housing and/or Assisted Living or at least 5 years of direct experience in Senior Housing or Assisted Living Services.
  • Licensed Assisted Living Director (LALD) certification or willingness to obtain.
  • Experience in effectively relating to an aging population.
  • Knowledge of the Housing with Services model of service delivery as it is structured in the State of Minnesota under MN Statute 1444G.
  • A healthcare background and/or familiarity with medical conditions and disabilities.
  • Significant knowledge of community resources and care options.
  • Knowledge of supervisory practices and principles.
  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to frequently perform tasks such as, but not limited to, those listed below:
  • Must be able to move throughout the workday and throughout the building.
  • Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position.
  • Move, push, pull, and/or lift objects weighing 10 to 25 pounds.
  • Use hands and arms for simple grasping, pushing, and pulling.
  • Perform tasks requiring actions of muscles or groups of muscles to walk, stoop, bend, lift, and to carry objects.
  • Walk and/or stand for prolonged periods of time.
  • Speak clearly and make self-understood in face-to-face interactions.
  • See objects closely to read directions, instructions, etc.
  • Hear normal sounds and voices with some background noise to receive verbal instructions, answer telephones, communicate with others, etc.
