Cardiovascular Technologist

Baptist Health is a leading healthcare system in central Alabama, providing comprehensive hospital-based and outpatient services to nearly 60 percent of the residents in Montgomery, Autauga and Elmore counties.

The Cardiovascular Technologist is responsible for working as a team member with other cardiac cath personnel, physicians, customers, and coworkers in providing technical expertise necessary to perform procedures required in the cardiac cath unit.

The maintenance of the cardiac cath unit lies with each staff member. This person will be responsible for providing a safe and meaningful service to the patient and physician.

To this end, they must be familiar with all the equipment involved in performing such duties, and able to operate such equipment efficiently and accurately.

This position requires knowledge of cardiovascular anatomy, hemodynamics, and sterile technique.

The Cardiovascular Technologist will be responsible for providing physicians with reliable data and results at completion of the procedure.

All cardiovascular invasive specialists will be expected to act with initiative in completing duties in the cardiac cath unit.

Requirements:

• High school graduate (or equivalent) required
• Graduate of a School of Radiologic Technology, ARRT, RCIS or RCES required
• BLS, ACLS required
• Cardiac Cath or Special Procedures Radiography experience preferred but not required

Education Background:

• Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist or Registered Radiologic Technologist
