About the Position

We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Administrative Assistant III to join our team at the Committee for Public Counsel Services (CPCS) in Framingham, Massachusetts.

Job Description

The successful candidate will provide administrative support to our attorneys and staff, including word and data processing, filing, copying, scanning, and handling correspondence. Additionally, they will coordinate and assist with projects related to personnel management, program evaluation, and other areas.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to attorneys and staff
  • Coordinate and assist with projects related to personnel management, program evaluation, and other areas
  • Create statistical reports regarding attorney caseloads and disposition of cases
  • Plan, coordinate, and calendar meetings and events
  • Assist with other projects to improve the quality of legal representation and enhance client services
  • Ensure office systems and agency procedures are administered effectively
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external contacts at all levels

Requirements

To be considered for this position, candidates should possess:

  • An Associate's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • A minimum of two years of experience as an administrative assistant or office manager
  • Executive level secretarial skills
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • Strong organizational abilities
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise considerable judgment and discretion

About CPCS

CPCS is the state agency responsible for providing an attorney when the state or federal constitution or a state statute requires the appointment of an attorney for a person who cannot afford to retain one. We provide representation in criminal, delinquency, youthful offender, family regulation, guardianship, mental health, sexually dangerous person, and sex offender registry cases, as well as in appeals and post-conviction and post-judgment proceedings related to those matters.

What We Offer

This is a full-time (35 hours/week) position with a competitive salary range of $45,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on experience. The estimated salary for this position is around $52,500 per year.
