Compensation and Benefits Overview

The estimated annual salary for this role is $45,000 to $60,000, depending on experience. About the Role

This Medical Assistant position plays a vital role in ensuring seamless patient care at Middlesex Health. Reporting directly to the Practice Manager, you will be responsible for welcoming patients, escorting them to exam rooms, verifying reason for visits, obtaining medical information, and documenting all patient data accurately in our electronic health records system. You will also assist providers with patient exams and procedures as directed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Welcome patients to the practice and escort them to designated exam rooms
  • Interview patients to obtain relevant medical information, verify reason for visit, and record allergies, current medications, and pharmacy of choice
  • Document patient information in the Electronic Health Record according to established policies and procedures
  • Confirm and record vital signs, temperature, and pulse oximetry readings as required
  • Prepare treatment rooms, keeping them clean and stocked with necessary supplies
  • Manage patient messages, schedule appointments, and prepare prescription refill documents for provider review and signature
  • Maintain effective and organized systems to ensure timely workflow for patients and providers

Requirements and Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Medical Assisting Certification
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and medications
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1 year experience working with electronic health records
  • 1 year office-based physician practice experience
