Project Support Specialist

The Assistant Project Manager role at Cook & Boardman is a dynamic position that requires a strong support system for our project management team. As an Assistant Project Manager, you will be responsible for assisting in the planning and execution of all project-related activities, including account management, design, and project management.
Key Responsibilities• Assist the project team in ordering materials in a timely manner to meet the construction schedule
• Communicate effectively with customers verbally and in writing
• Follow up on correspondence in writing, primarily via email
• Respond promptly to phone calls and return them in a timely manner
• Communicate with factories and suppliers
• Coordinate and monitor subcontractor performance
• Identify and process changes as directed by the customer
• Prepare direct entry sales orders
• Produce fabrication work orders
• Assist in collection efforts where applicable
• Coordinate the project submittal process
• Visit job sites as required
• Provide close-out documents as needed
• Perform other related duties as assigned
Requirements
• High school diploma or equivalent
• 1-2 years of relevant professional experience
• Pass a pre-employment background check and drug test
Skills and Abilities
• Proficient in Microsoft products, including Excel, Word, and Outlook
• Functional and working knowledge of computers
• Effective time management skills
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
• Strong organizational skills, self-motivated, and proactive
• Winning attitude, ability to multitask, and detail-oriented
• Good mathematical skills
Work Environment
This role operates primarily in a professional office environment. The employee frequently uses standard office equipment, such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. May occasionally require driving to project sites.
