Norfolk, Virginia, United States MRG Exams Full time
About the Role

MRG Exams, a leading provider of independent medical examinations, is seeking a skilled Physiatrist to join our team as an Independent Medical Assessor. This is a unique opportunity to leverage your expertise in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation while serving United States Veterans.

The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting comprehensive assessments on veterans through our secure Web Portal. This involves reviewing medical health records, performing thorough evaluations, and completing Disability Benefit Questionnaires (DBQs) to document exam findings.

This is not a treating role; instead, you will focus on providing medical fact-finding and investigative services. Your expertise will play a crucial role in supporting the VA's disability benefits process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct independent medical assessments on 4 veterans per day, on average, with the potential for more based on individual performance.
  • Review medical health records and electronic documentation to identify key data points.
  • Analyze data to complete DBQs and form medical opinions.
  • Typing skills are essential for meeting productivity requirements.
  • Complete DBQs within 24 hours of an examination.

We are looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented Physiatrist who can effectively manage their time, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.

Requirements
  • Hold a current license as a Physiatrist.
  • Be Board Certified in either Neurological Surgery, PM&R, or Psychiatry and Neurology.
What We Offer

A competitive salary of $150,000 - $200,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications, plus a hybrid schedule that balances telehealth and face-to-face interactions. As an Independent Medical Assessor, you will have the autonomy to work independently while still being part of a supportive team environment.
