Position Overview:
PBF Energy Inc, a leading independent refiner in North America, is seeking a skilled Process Controls Engineer to play a crucial role in our operations.

Job Summary:
The primary responsibility of the Process Controls Engineer is to design, configure, and maintain both basic and advanced process control systems. This includes working with regulatory applications on platforms such as Honeywell TDC and Experion, as well as multivariable applications using AspenTech DMC.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Utilize Honeywell TDC Distributed Control System (DCS) and Experion platforms alongside advanced engineering applications, including:
- AspenTech's DMC
- Abnormal event detection and real-time advisory alerting
- Alarm management strategies
- Remote control performance monitoring
- Blending applications

2. Develop and support basic process control applications through control engineering skills, including:
- Point configuration
- Loop tuning
- Control logic development
- Process dynamics identification

3. Maintain and enhance existing process control applications and operator interfaces.

4. Identify and create new control schemes to improve process safety, optimization, and reliability.

5. Review instrumentation specifications and design for control enhancements.

6. Investigate instrumentation and control equipment failures, recommending actions to improve system reliability.

7. Provide technical support for instrumentation systems and equipment, including low voltage electrical control systems and some PLCs.

8. Understand industry standards such as API, NFPA, NEC, IEEE, ASME, ANSI, and ASCE.

9. Offer process control support during project development, execution, and startup phases.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing or operational environment.

Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with AspenTech DMC process control software.
- Experience with Honeywell process control systems and engineering applications.
- Knowledge of Triconex and Modicon PLC Systems.
- Demonstrated experience with regulatory and advanced controls in manufacturing processes.
- Basic understanding of valve, orifice plate, and thermowell sizing.
- Strong initiative, accuracy, effectiveness, and communication skills.
- Excellent troubleshooting abilities.
