Financial Compliance Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Financial Compliance Analyst to join our team at American Modern Insurance Group, Inc., a Munich Re company. As a Financial Compliance Analyst, you will be responsible for testing internal controls over financial reporting at American Modern in support of MARSOX (Model Audit Rule (MAR) and Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX)) requirements.

The role will ensure that control testing is completed objectively, professionally, and in accordance with corporate and industry standards. Key responsibilities include:

  • Executing MARSOX control testing across all business units in accordance with established procedures.
  • Developing technical and analytical skills to understand business processes, identify or interpret financial reporting risks and controls, testing approach, and propose solutions.
  • Working with business unit management to gain understanding of internal controls and business processes.
  • Completing documentation, including testing templates, working papers, and accumulation of evidential matter, in accordance with established standards and procedures.
  • Effectively communicating control weaknesses and control gaps to business stakeholders and management.
  • Offering value-added recommendations to business stakeholders and management regarding internal control testing results.
  • Monitoring changes in business processes and systems to ensure timely updating of control documentation to mitigate applicable risks.

Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Management Information Systems, or a related field. Experience with financial statements, operational, and/or IT audit experience is a plus but not required.
