Key Responsibilities

  • ">
  • Collaborate with supervising physicians to expand individualized healthcare services for pediatric and congenital heart conditions">
  • Counsel and educate cardiac critical care patients and their families/caregivers about health conditions, treatment options, and community resources">
  • Document delivery of cardiac critical healthcare and nursing processes in accordance with care standards and network nursing policy">
  • Participate in orientation and education of staff and students">
  • Obtain cardiac critical care patient history and perform assessment via observation, interview, and examination">
  • Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic studies for cardiac critical care patients; perform health assessments, screening, and patient care">
  • Provide direct treatment and management of cardiac critical care conditions via prescriptive authority or referral to other healthcare providers or community resources; engage in discharge planning">

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must possess:

">
  • ">
  • A Physician's Assistant or Licensed Registered Nurse credential from the Texas Board of Nursing">
  • Licensed Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner with Prescriptive Authority specializing in Cardiac Critical Care; credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing in Acute Care nursing">
  • Experience in caring for children with complex congenital and acquired heart disease in a Pediatric and Congenital Cardiac Critical Care Unit">
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office applications">
  • Ability to work efficiently and flexibly in a fast-paced environment with minimal guidance">
  • Ability to address individuals and information with a high degree of sensitivity and confidentiality in various situations">
  • Capacity to work well with physicians and other care providers as part of a multi-disciplinary healthcare delivery team">
